This is the fastest CM ROM yet!

The biggest new feature: BFS – http://ck.kolivas.org/patches/bfs/bfs-faq.txt

Grab it with CM Updater, and enjoy your new phone.

    @AndroidFan thanks for posting that.

Users may forget that they are using experimental software.

    Meaning:
    - Themes may (and most likely) will not work
    - Things will be broken. E-mail the developer (Cyan for CM updates, theme devs for themes, etc) to let them know
    - Requests for help should be asked in forums (such as XDA)
    - Requests for features should be e-mailed to coders/devs

Just some netiquette for online newbies :)

Really rocks this build does!!! Installed with no problem everything works fine but faster! Thanks!

  • Gnur

    Hey,
This build is awesome. Except it seems to be causing random restarts. Had 2 restarts this far.

  • http://www.takative.com Andrei

Amazing, it’s like having a brand new phone.
    Makes G1s actually usable :)

    Congrats for the great work

  • roben

Thanks again for this great work!
FYI: I am also experiencing irregular reboots. Two in the last 12 hours.

Going back to stable for now, but i am really looking forward for the next release!

  • roben

Forgot to mention: My Phone is a vodafone Magic 32B. Did a fresh 4.0.4 install with wipe before and used cm updater for the upgrade to 4.1.6.
My SD Card is formatted with fat32/ext3/swap.

  • neatchee

TMo myTouch 3G here upgraded without wipe and am running very well. Only quirks so far have been an occassional appcrash from last.fm when it’s running as a service. Otherwise this build runs incredibly stable and FAST. Thanks to Cyanogen and the BFS developer for some great stuff!

Working like a charm in my Spanish Vodafone Magic, fast and smooth, upgrading from 4.0.4 without wipe. So far only problems with the video camera, no crashes.

  • sparks

    3 reboots within 5 hours.
occasional menu button not doing anything, to unlock phone, took 5 or 6 clicks before working.

    upgraded from 4.1.5
    no wipe

went over to try todays xRom for a moment. its nice, but eh.

    tried to also do todays
hero rom, but got stuck in a boot loop.

  • hector

    cool

  • Rob

    Jp HT-03A (34B)
Had it hang on the reboot but after battery out and several tries, booted right up.
Only issue was Toggle Settings wouldn’t initiate and App Manager couldn’t locate files at all. It also misread the sdcard with only 5MB.
Was a bit faster on my phone, but I’ve gone back to stable for now.

Can’t wait for this to be stable.
PS I like the 4.0.4 camera a bit more than this beta.

If you want this, wait for stable. Unless you like tinkering and what-not.

    Good Work thus far!

  • Nicolas Jordan

so when are your going to release the stable version of this?

  • Alf

    Your ROM is simply amazing….
    Congratulation

    A french user…

  • David (Sweden)

    Appriciate all the hard work!
    Thanks a bunch!

  • Jerry D. Hedden

Upgraded from 4.0.4 to 4.1.6 on my HTC Dream (T-Mobile G1). No problems encountered. No reboot loops, and did not have to wipe. All apps and widgets work. Speed seems good, and all is well with the world. Thanks.

Does anyone else get a force close error using open home? It crashes everytime I upgrade to a 1.6 plant form version. Any ideas?

  • kev

Plat form* (sorry) – Open Home is the app that crashes its a home replacer.

  • martinh (sweden)

Tried the 32a port on my magic.
Really fast, but to many fc and random behavior to be usable. I nandroid back to 4.1.2.1

  • milo

Big thx, this one is really super fast, and i have no problems with restart or force close.

    big up

    Where can I report bugs?

I have a PIN protected SIM card and when I leave my phone alone for a long time (like several hours) then when I come back it tells me that I need to punch SIM PIN. I don’t know if the phone has restarted or not.

  • http://www.metserve.com Ahmet

The chances are that it has restarted ……….. known bug at this stage.

  • Robert

Loving 4.1.6 and BFS. I’m a lover of Linux and enjoy your addition of BFS to test with. I like the way you think. I’ve experienced a few hangs but no biggie. Looking forward to 4.1.7.

this build it 150% more stable,. but i’m wondering why the option to select a different search is not in there anymore. thats about the only problem i’m having. well that and Twidroid Pro.

  • j5

is it worth updating to the experimental roms ?

  • yz99

Great rom and like it a lot.

One of the complains that I have with Android is that it shutdown the program(s) that I’m using whenever it “sees fit”. I can understand that when memory is low, or a process is out of wack, it needs to be shutdown, but with 250MB+ free memory on mytouch and when a process is NOT consuming cpu, it still gets shutdown, many times as soon as I swtich to a different app (and come back). The restarting of the program and restore of states is not much of an issue in this case, the much bigger problem is that most of the programs I’m using talk to the internet – re-downloading and rendering the contents take quite bit time to the point it becomes an annoyance.

Can this behavior be adjusted in custom roms?

  • David

I’m loving the speed, it’s like purchasing a new phone. I’m getting the reboot bug though. It happened twice so far, and one of them was when I was on an important phone call…so I think I will revert back to the latest stable release.

Thank you so much for everything you’ve done. I can’t wait for your next stable release.

  • subzero

Where can I download it from. Second if I don’t can I change it back??
