Tutorial videos wanted, can you help?

September 21st, 2009

Guys and Girls.

With the recent registration of our own YouTube channel, I’m looking for people who are able to create tutorial videos and other videos that can help users with the CyanogenMod.

Videos that are required :

1) Rooting.
2) Installing CynogenMod Recovery Image.
3) Flashing a new image manually.
4) Flashing a new image via the updater.
5) Flashing a theme.

More videos will follow but these are the main ones for now.

Wannabe producers would talk the procedure through (this can be computer voiced) and explain to viewers how to complete the above.

The videos will be set in a blank template (somewhere clean and clear of rubbish) and shall be presented in a professional manner.

If you are able to do this, please send a message to SatanR1 on the XDA developers forum.

Ahmet.

Also a tutorial on how to partition SD card will definitely helpful.

Hope you ONLY allow videos to be used with no slangs, and spell out every step exactly, assuming that everyone viewing the video will be doing the procedure for the FIRST time.

Don’t allow novice+ terms like FC or Radio. It will only serve to confuse a newb. There is no such words found on the Android screens and should not be used.

The person who creates the video tutorial should keep the original so it can be easily edited. In this day and age you shouldn’t have to re-shoot the complete 5 minute video of your tutor video to make one little correction/update on a step or text overlay.

I learned how to root my g1 and partition the sd card from androidandme articles. These articles are very in depth so a video tutorial based on them would be great!

You only need the market installed to get access to install the other google apps.

Why not just develop the rom without the google apps. Then let us find a pirate way to install the google market. If we own a google phone (Which I do) then we arent breaching any licence agreement.

Or maybe you could verify that a user has a google phone and only provide the market if they do. That would probably be enough to keep google happy.

Actually, don’t google provide the apk for the market app via their developer site anyway?

Sorry, I seem to have posted this in response to the wrong thread. I’m talking in regards to google ordering cyanogen to stop distributing the google apps.

I’ve made 3 successful youtube tutorials for rooting, and adding custom roms, including Jfv1.42 , Haykuro’s Cupcake effort, and Jfv1.51.
I’ve made an incomplete JacHERO tutorial, but ultimatly decided against posting it after requirments changed too frequently. I’d be happy to help in any way, using ddms (screen shot), Camtasia Studios, with clear voice overs.
here is the link to my videos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vC-T1Yf4m4s&feature=channel_page

Ive recently had to go back to RC7…(long story dont ask)…I now dont know how to install the cyanogen mod…I have partitions in my SD card…i dont know to make the 500mb partition the one where the apps are installed.

when i installed RC7 …i tried root. I did the whole telnetd thing…it wouldnt let me do anything!!!
