    Downloading know, Thanks a Ton!
    ;)

  • Dutchmaster:

Whoa first to comment! Gonna download it now and see what steve has in store. He never fails to impress me

  • PlanetxBob:

Booting now, wishing my music bug is fixed, but judging by changelog doesn’t look like its gonna be, oh well still love the roms!

  • gconcepts:

Thanks for your ROMS Steven. Does anyone know yet if VPN works on this version of the rom?

  • robert:

just booted up and got nothing but restarts and forcecloses?

  • PlanetxBob:

got the same robert, gunna try fix permissions

  • Uxorious:

After updating, the phone went to the “First boot” app where you have to bind it with the Google account.

All installed apps Force Closed the first boot (as usual), but this reboot didn’t fix it … all apps are now failing (Facebook, Twidroid. Even CM updater says it can’t check for updates)

  • Flashfox:

    What’s “facepalm release”? (4.2.12.1)

  • Dustin:

same thing here, first boot app with the google account. apps failing loading lots of force close. gonna use nandroid backup

  • robert:

used a backup for an earlyier release of cyanogen, downloading 4.2.12.1 now

  • Flashfox:

Hesitating to load 4.2.12.1… any field reports that the first boot issue is resolved?

  • Mark:

I updated with the cm updater and flashed the new release (no wipe)
first boot was slow (as normal ~2-3 mins or so). everything seems to be working fine so far…running fast!

  • Flashfox:

Thanks… just got the release through CM. Will backup then load ;-)

  • robert:

ya just got 4.2.12.1 up and running, but just had a random reboot when trying to add a widgit

  • Lester:

Everything seems fine, except a few force closes on first boot (4.2.12.1)

  • Chris:

Wow, I flashed the first one. Everything is broke, even CM updater. I’m going to have to wipe, aren’t I?

  • Turtleiscool:

Not sure how to report bugs and all but there was a very definate poping noise whenevery the usb was pluged and unpluged. even with sound all the way down and i lost all my t-mobile apps > im, myfaves

  • Uxorious:

    Flashing back to 4.2.11.1 didn’t fix it (I didn’t have a backup).
Then I did a wipe, and now at least it works again.

One thing I noticed when doing a wipe is that it seems to only wipe the built-in flash. Since I have my SD card partitioned with apps out there, they don’t get wiped – but I’m not sure they are fully working after wiping.

Is there an easy way to fully wipe both the built-in flash and the apps on SD?

  • justyn:

on the 12.1- getting random reboots a few minutes after boot and keep repeating…any ideas?

  • Mark:

I want to change my previous statement…everything is working fine except for advanced task manager – causes crash and reboot. uninstalled and reinstalled = same thing
no biggy. I rarely use it and there are many alternatives

  • Melissa:

Same here updated to 4.2.12 and got first boot with no apps working. anyone test 2.4.12.1?

  • Flashfox:

Hmm… looks like I will hold off with 4.2.12.1 until later. I will follow this thread to see if 12.1 is stable enough ;-)

  • Chris:

I am having the same problem as Justyn, the phone starts, and reboots while loading the home screen, then keeps this cycle up repeatedly.

  • ND:

My phone won’t make it past the G1 boot screen at all. Tried an in-place upgrade which stuck me here, then completely wiped *everything* and reflashed…still stuck at the G1 boot screen. Going back to 4.2.11.1 for now.

  • SugarMouth:

Just bought you a beer! Thanks!

  • Sam:

.2 will be released as stated on XDA on page 1022.

If you havent upgraded, wait and do it then. 2 buggies have been fixed. no ETA on release tho.

  • Jordan:

    Thanks runs great!

  • Flashfox:

Steve… I just sent you a “couple of beers” as I appreciate your efforts ;-)

Would be happy to send you a “case of beer” if we ever get to see voice dialing through blue tooth devices on the G1 (lol)

  • Benjamin Souther:

Great stuff Cyanogen! I had the firstboot issue but no biggie cause I used my bart backup to restore…The .1 release seems to work fine but I am flashing .2 as I type..Anyway keep up the good work.

  • rooob:

My phone stopped at the first screen. G1.

  • David:

If you go from 4.2.11.1 to 4.2.12.1 will i loose all my applications, themes and all the personalizations that i’ve done to my phone?

  • archboy:

Thanks! Updated and works great from what I can see.

  • DmdFreak:

    #31 Dave,

You will lose your theme, but not your apps unless they have some kind of issue with this build. (IE SMSBackup a number of builds back)

  • Alex:

Upgrade from 4.2.11.1 reset all my settings, but thank goodness for Apps2SD!!! Lots of apps didn’t work though.

Went back to 4.2.11.1 only to figure out I needed to run fix permissions. Will give it another go tomorrow, and run fix permissions if necessary.

  • ND:

In an update to my previous post (#24), I rewiped everthing (and I do mean everything), reinstalled the “defanged” base and put 4.2.12.1 over it (before .2 was available), and everything booted up just fine. Not sure what the problem was the first time.

Since then I’ve had a couple of random reboots that seem to be because I used SetCPU to set my max speed at 528MHz (with default Min). Since I’ve lowered the max to 384MHz, no more random reboots.

  • I’ve just set the 4.2.12.2 on my G1. At first glance there was nothing new, however, the call log seem a bit changed – I *love* this grouping view. Also the GPS seem to come online for no apparent reason. The great thing is that it seems Cyanogen has added the navigation-cracked version of Google Maps, which is great! :)

Thank you for your work, Cyanogen!
    Keep it up!

  • Roger:

How the tables turn. I loaded and installed the latest without a wipe and without a problem. Everything I use seems to be working fine.
Vodafone 32b HTC Magic ex New Zealand

  • Tom:

Is fix_permissions working for anyone else? I get the following message, and then it quits immediately:

    106 does not exist (1 of 106). Reinstall…

  • guru:

Can I install the the latest radio “6.35.07.29 Radio and 1.76.2007 SPL” and use this ROM ??

    Guru

  • ostiaputa386:

    Thanks man!!!
    flashing!!

  • Did you take a look at the 10MB Ram hack? sounds interesting to me!

    http://www.absolutelyandroid.com/10mb-ram-hack-version-4-2-11-1/

Also, do you know if lowmemorykiller only checks against physical memory?

With swap on, processes are still being killed unless I set a very high swappiness. Shouldn’t lowmemorykiller count this available swap memory?

    Thanks.

  • zvika:

just istalled it I will report soon.

  • cmbaldwin:

Just installed the 4.2.12.2 on my Vodafone 32b HTC Magic (uk)

    Kept rebooting.

Switched off Locale in case of wallpaper setting issue and that seems to have fixed it. Looks like the old bug has crept back in again.

  • Sparti:

Just loaded 4.2.12.2 and on my G1 everything work fine, fast and smooth! New contacts app works great.
    Many thanks Steve!!!

  • Review:

  • jman:

  • Royal:

  • sleepy:

  • hobbes:

.12 sent my G1 into a tailspin. Rebooted continously. Rolled back. Thanks for all the very hard work. I love this rom.
