Does anyone know if Font Size in Spare Parts works for sure? Every release, I try it and it reverts back to default immediately.

  • Lester:

My only defect I found with this ROM is that fix_permissions doesn’t work from terminal, heard it works from console but I haven’t tried…

  • superketto:

Non va il programma di posta htc. Quello per excange

  • peyotll:

Thanks for your rom!!! I just have the same problem as #44 #46 and #49, can’t download apps from market with 4.2.12.2.

  • Pushabutton:

it’s the return of the random reboots…again. rolling back to 11

  • vladuz976:

scary. so many bad reports this time. I’ll wait a little longer before upgrading this time…

  • vladuz976:

updated to 4.2.12.2 and works just fine. Only thing is I can’t seem to find any difference to 4.2.11.
    Any noticeable updates here?

  • jman:

would a recovery rom also save a podcast playlist in an app? and the downloaded episodes?

    curious…

  • MIresnare:

Widgets broken on mine : -

    Picture frames
    Calendar
    internal memory
    sd card memory
    Overclock
    Power Control

First time this has happened, rolling back to 11.1

  • Uros:

People do not use cm updater for installing, be sure to download the appropriate kernel port first. This may seem stupid but may be the answer to your problems… The ROM works just fine :-)

  • Pushabutton:

How is installing the rom different from the updater downloading and installing it?

  • j2eubank:

I installed via the updater and things seem just fine. Only thing I see is that just like .11 the battery seems to drain faster than normal or faster then it did on .9

  • Pushabutton:

I installed this morning at about 7 am, and before I reverted back at 11:30, the battery had drained down to 23%. I just replaced the battery a month ago, so it’s not battery fatigue. Lost 70+% in 4 hrs

  • Zeshan:

downloaded….installed just fine… but force closes pretty much everything…. plus rom seems a little choppy…. rolling back to .11 …. thnx again for the roms tho…. keeep em coming steve

  • funkevin2112:

I went from .9.x to .12.2 and going back to the home screen is now really slow. I’ve had a couple problems installing from the market but that part is actually working a little better than before. Everything else seems to work find for me (although the MT zoom in the broswer is very sensitive to removing one finger at a time – has to be both almost simulatneously). So far, pretty happy with it. Love CM!

  • JC:

Music stops from Pandora when I change to another application, such as Messaging, for example.

Other than that, things are looking pretty good.

    Problems with Android Market

    Hi,
I wiped my phone and installed the CM4.2.11.1 from the recovery mode. After that I rebooted the system and used the terminal to fix_permissions.

Unfortunatelly I still have the problem that I couldn’t download any program from the android market, I allways get the error message “the progress com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpetedly. Please try again later”

I try to find and solution for that in the forum but I couldn’t find it. What could I do to fix that ? Please help me, Thanks

    Juergen

  • Jordan:

Seems to hesitates and freezes on this build
Specifically when the browser is running. I love the constant updates though thanks!

  • bowly:

    It’s working perfectly. Thanks

  • shmigao:

4.2.12.2 is definitely choppier than 4.2.11.1
did a clean flash and dalvik wipe.

  • Andrew Ward:

.12.2 works nicely for me. Fast and stable so far.

  • j2eubank:

@Pushabutton are you partitioned? How did you install it? from a clean wipe and install or from CMUpdater?

  • Matt105:

I updated from 4.2.9 to 4.2.12 and I still have the same problem of everything just being incredibly slow. I use Taskiller, but there really aren’t any background programs I have installed. Stock theme. It always takes like 30 seconds for the home screen to load the icons/widgets whenever I go to home screen; the music player is messed up now; and you guys are right my battery is at 50% when it was full charged like 3-4 hours ago. No wifi on either >_< When I first got cyanogenmod it was awesome, but the past couple of months it has given me nothing but headache after headache. :( Just frustrated and unsure of what to do now. Don't really want to bother with it anymore…

  • Chris:

@ the person who’s having problems with widgets, mine works fine…

  • kcjensen77:

Everything is stable in this version on my G1. Thanks

  • j2eubank:

@Matt105 if 4.2.9 was stable for you just restore your back-up and wait for a new build. As far as home screen slowness Spare Parts – > Home app in memory might help.

  • simon:

updated from 4.2.11.1 and it sems faster and more STABLE! I can’t tell problems with the battery. I am out for 14 Hours now with ~1hour browsing/using apps and the battery still shows 58% what (to me) seems like an improvement to 4.2.11.1

  • Matt105:

Thanks for the response. CM has always been “stable” for me. But the Home screen loading delay has been happening since 4.2.5 or somewhere around there (I don’t remember actual version #).

  • Matt105:

Hey! Home app in memory seems to fix it for me! Thanks! :D

  • CCShermCraig:

Music player won’t load with new ROM. Other than this issue, all else is better than any previous ROM. If we could just pull it all together on the NEXT ROM! ;)

Am partitioned to ext4 on 4gb class 6 card on a G1. Downloaded from CMU updater and installed. I’m not wiping again unless I have to. 4.11 ran great, but I had trouble around 4.8 with random reboots too. 4.10 and up fixed it till now. I always fix permissions after I update (seems to solve tons of problems) but it didn’t this time. I love the builds, and am never (i.e. have too many apps to) going back to stock. I’m not against downloading the rom from developer site and installing, I just want to figure out if it would be worth my time, since it is supposed to be the same rom either way.

  • j2eubank:

@Pushabutton I was just trying to see if we had something in common RE: battery drain. I looked though the xda thread and see people complaining of this in just about every build. 4.2.9 was great for me and this build is good outside the battery issue. I don’t think that is the ROM as it’s to sporadic of an issue. I am going to run the battery down and recalibrate from RA recovery tonight.

  • Is is just my app, or does cyanogenmod 4.2.12.2 ignore android:inputType=”none” attribute of EditText? Did somebody else run into this type of problem? In emulator using all SDKs results are fine (after click into EditText where inputType=”none” was set, virtual keyboard will not slide up) In latest cyanogen it will slide up (which is wrong)…

  • Pushabutton:

    j2eubank
I was just surprised at the battery drain issue because I had just replaced my battery. Recalibration will hopefully fix it, but I’ve never had a 70% drain in only 4 hours till now. I’m just wondering if the battery drain for me was related to the sporadic reboots, or is a separate issue. I’ve gone back to 4.2.11, and have only used 3% battery in 3 hours now

  • ScrewMaster:

I have to wonder how many of you folks that are having troubles with updates aren’t checking your MD5 hashes.

  • zvika:

I have the g1. After instaling the syste freezed for 30 second every time i unlock the phone and. Then it work slow for 60 seconds.
Lots of force close. the latest. Version that works
    Was 4.2. 10.1 .

  • Cesar Raziel:

The best update since 4.2.7.1 my phone is running better I update in this morning and until now I haven’t any problem, by the way my phone is running smoother. I got to mention that I have a MT3g and my card isn’t partitioned. I’m runing the mod from the phone not the card.

  • Blackmantis:

Up-dated to 4.2.12.2 working fine only my home button is not working LOL. Anyone with anything similar?
Does anyone also know how to get rid off the pertinent magnifying glass on the browser?
Keep up the good work Mr Cyanogen. It is well appreciated.

  • Jordan:

Had to go back to 4.2.11.1. To many bugs. SD card errors and freezing. Thanks

  • Bob:

Can’t install anything from the market… rolling back to 4.2.11.1 as i write this… very disappointing =(

  • Eddie:

Installed fine on T-Mo G1 – Updated from 4.2.9 from CM Updater – Default/android music player wont start at all and I have to force close it. I was getting random Reboots every 20 min or so still having trouble w/ ScummVM since 4.2.7 it just force closes everytime i start it. Rolling back to 4.2.11.1 till more fixes roll in. Thx for the updates Cyanogen you kick ass….. :)

**Update** rolled back to 4.2.11.1 and now my music player still doesnt function :(

  • pyr0path:

fix_permissions appears to not be installed. other than that, running smoothly as usual ;)

  • slowjazz:

    Cyanogen,
PLEASE SLOW DOWN. Your ideas and work are great, but your going about this too fast and your really starting to loose alot of people. Heck, nobody knows what to download anymore. (10, 10.1,11,11.1,12,12.1,12.2)
I think the problem is that the environment is too complicated for just ‘one’ rom. There are many radios, many launchers, many memory hacks, many sd card/non sd card phones.
It may be a hard choice, but you may have to start programming from stock on up. (Just like theme guys do) Sucks, but this mixing fixes is killing the whole rom.
btw.. I was working ok on 12.2 with just stock, but started to look at the battery and sure enough it is draining faster then before. (not sure when it started)
Down to 68% from 100% about 9 hours ago. I did nothing with the phone all day.
    use is:
    Cell standby 61%
    Phone idle 35%
    display 4%

  • Ari Tafari:

    Upgraded from 4.2.10.1.
I have not encountered any issues. It has, so far, been flawless. T-Mo G1.
    Thank you very much Cyanogen

  • Hmm:

Which is the mot stable ROM for a G1? I’m still on 4.2.9 and nothing shows up in CM updater. It can be slow, become unresponsive, and the home screen goes blank regularly. Which of the more recent ROMs should I get?

  • Simao:

    Working fine for me, thanks!

  • mbm:

went from 4.2.11.1 to 4.2.12.2 and only noticeable difference is the auto-rotate of the screen seems faster. guess I’ll post otherwise if I see different. thanks for the rom!

  • Carlos Santos:

    @ Juergen
    Me too…
I’m having Force close on com.google.process.gapps. Now even If I downgrade 4.2.11.1, format SD, wipe, remove partitions… Anyone has an idea of what’s happening?

  • hobbescs:

    @Juergen & carlos
I had the same problems, pretty sure it was a corrupted file on the sd card. had to reformat sd, create new partitions, wipe, install new base, then 4.2.12.2. finally everything is working great, faster than ever.

  • Carlos Santos:

    @hobbescs
    What base? HTC? Or 4.1.9999?
