postheadericon CyanogenMod-4.2.13

Another build in the “stable” series which should greatly improve stability. The services code should be backwards compatible so apps with persistent services should behave better. All-new multitouch code using the 2.0 API was added. Contacts app updated. Many other bugs fixed!

Hey, installation is going pretty smooth, so far no problems!

  • Kenny:

    Downloading now…

Btw is anyone else having a problem with their facebook app? I can’t seem to upload pictures.

  • I was literally just about to look into going back to factory settings. I’ve been having serious issue (home screen crashing half the time, phone randomly rebooting, with 8-10 minutes boot up times) over the past few releases. But I’m taking this as a sign, and I’m gonna give this new one a try.

  • BurnOmatic:

third :) thanks for another great one :)

  • Kenny:

    Install took 4-5 minutes

It took 5 minutes for my home screen to come back. (its ok now)
Long pressing call log FC dialer…it might be the update to the dialer.apk

everything else seems to be running fine…

    The speed is back..

    Thanks Steve

  • I’m still having an issue where EVERY TIME I open my keyboard on my G1 while on the Home Screen, I get “android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly.” with a Force Close button. After that it takes a good 20-30 seconds for my home screen to load back up and become workable.

I’ve got 8 app shortcuts and the power control widget on my home screen.

  • Josh Ganderson:

Press call button to get to call log, long press first entry in log, process android.process.acore force closes and home screen gone. Anyone else seeing this?

Hoping my favorite bug with force close trying to access gtalk from notification bar is gone, haven’t tested yet but crossing my fingers.

Thanks for the update! Was worried the N1 would eat up all your time.

  • @kenny … I’ve NEVER been able to upload pictures to facebook from my android….. even back with JF and the FB app from way back….. it sucks

@tony …. are you using google voice at all? I’ve had some similar issues but I recently started noticing that Google Voice seems to be a very touchy point on my phone so I’m wondering if things link back to that.

  • @Tony Bullard

There could be a few reasons its running slow for ya… You might lookin to running a fix_permissions script and/or clearing your Dalvik-cache… and if all else fails factory wipe and reinstall. Also double check to see if your SD card is formatted correctly ie FAT32, ext4, linux-swap

everything i mentioned above do a quick google search for and you’ll find out how.

I’m a little new to all of this but my phone is flying with a few other mod to that and i was having similar problems before

Best luck shoot me a message if you questions.

  • bob:

Making me miss my G1! Can’t wait until roms for N1 get rolling, I miss Wysie’s contact app (among many many things).

  • laquer09:

@Tony Bullard..I’m getting same issue with long press on first entry in dialer.

  • pumex:

    Downloading… thanks :D

  • Mike:

This version can correctly display Chinese and Japanese song names in Music app. Great work.

  • Mike:

Had a problem when open gallery, some sorting problem. File not found when open folders.

  • aMUSEd:

    Hi,

    did Cyanogen fix the AudioPara-Bug?

    Kind regards!

  • Great! Is there any 32A kernel port up yet?
Or is there any online tool for that avalible? :D

  • bz:

    Downloading- thanks
Can any one please tell me if the market issue (not downloading app’s & gtalk cruashing) – is still there or not?

Or how to solve this –

    I have ADP1.

    Thx

  • Download

    — Thank —-

  • jman:

If i update via cmupdater, will podcast files i have downloaded in the app “listen” be deleted from the memory card?

  • bz:

Guy’s please help – market still not working,
Google talk will crash on penning, and GTalk service is not running.

Any one has any idea on how to solve this?

  • bb0y:

as usual it is perfection for the G1.

  • Perfect on my HTC Dream TIM Italy.
with 4.2.12.2 i had some lack after 1/2days of uptime … let see if this is ok.

  • Ross:

The updater doesn’t show this as yet, so I flashed manually.

My G1 is now so fast it needs a speed warning!

But I am getting I get “android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly.” with a Force Close button when long-pressing on call log entries. Everything else seems fine

  • @Ross: it’s a know issue, in the changelog on the XDA Thread is present the link to the correct Contacts.apk you had to push to the phone.

  • Gabe:

    Phone is running faster,Thanks
    Love Cyanogen

  • Ross:

    #25

Yeah, I found the link. I’ve never used ADB. is there a way to do this is the file is on my SD card? Sorry for the noob question.

  • shawn:

downloading now. hey if ne one is having a problem with the home screen taking a bit to load. heres how u fix it. go to spare parts app n scroll to the bottom and look for the option run home screen all time. turn that on n no more lag to load home screen worked for me

  • manjo:

My camera has solarization issues, it happened couple of updates ago and I have not been able to fix it. I googled and found it could be a HW issue as well. I am using snap photo to take pictures, and I tried all the settings to get rid of solarization. No luck.

  • jb:

I’m getting the “android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly” when long-clicking on contact in call log.

@Stracca The 4.2.13 changelog shows “Contacts app updated to Wysie’s 2.7″, so it shouldn’t have to be installed separately, right?

  • PyjamaPete:

Probably a local, and hardware related thing, but I have hardly had a signal all day, and just now I got the ‘no sim card’ notification. Might be time to save up for an N1 :(

  • Ross:

#30 You still have to update the contacts.apk to fix this bug. I’m just trying to find out how the hell to do it from my handset.

  • jman:

My contract is finishing in 6 months. My new contract will be my same G1 with reduced line rental and probably more minutes. So i will not get a new android phone just yet.

Cyanogen please keep feeding us G1′ers your roms!!! :)

  • Adam:

I’m still having the same problem I was with 4.2.12, the phone constantly reboots and burns through a full battery in about 2-3 hours. It will be running normally, then just randomly reboot, the longest It will stay up for it 3-5 mins. I’m not sure what changed, but it sure isnt working for me.

  • tomp:

long press on contacts not a problem for me on my mt3g…but i had wysie 2.7 installed prior to 4.2.13 update, maybe thats why…market working, sms working, things seem smoother than before (yet again), didnt wipe before update install, gallery fine, cm updater fine (make sure you have newest version of cm updater)

  • slow:

All who have the contact long press problem and have not visited the changelog on XDA:

    * KNOWN BUG: Long press contact causes crash. Fixed apk here (push to /system/app)

(link did not come here… so go to the XDA page :) )

  • jb:

@Ross I used an app called Apps Installer to install the Contact.apk and now mine works fine.

  • Ross:

#37 Thanks for that. I was a little unsure about just installing it since the advice was to use ADB to push it. Just installed it with EStrongs File Explorer and the problem has now gone away :)

  • sgmathews:

Installed, added on contacts.apk and working great! Thank you!

FYI, I uninstalled Power Manager Full while still 4.2.12, reset batter stats and noticed improvement in processing speed, battery and random restarts. Seemed to be hurting more than helping. Maybe it was just me.

  • super-so-mo:

i’ve been having issues since 4.2.12 i reverted back to 4.2.11.1
and everything was peachy today i decided to update to 4.2.13 and it’s the same shit all over again super laggy eats up battery apps won’t open. 10min boot time. i’ve wiped everything cleared cache
AND STILL NOTTHING! what am i missing?

  • Aditya.H:

This one is much better than 4.2.12.2 Thanks!

  • Pushabutton:

so far no problems. haven’t run into the random reboots again yet. Haven’t had it installed long enough to see if it is burning thru the battery yet (before it was sucking the battery dry in about 4 hrs with 4.12

  • Owen:

    Huge problem >>>> HUGE.

So I saw over at the changelog you specified getting a contacts apk, I did. And now, I cant make any phonecalls, I get a force close anytime I dial, or select a contact to call. I am recieveing well though.

  • slow:

#42… #@$@#$ he is right. just tried a call and get a FC. uuggg :(

  • Ross:

#43 & #44 No problems with the dialler after I updated the apk.

  • Adam:

Yuo confirmed that I cant make any calls either, even with the new contacts.apk. Between that and the random reboots, it looks like I’m back to 4.2.11.

  • RightYouAreKen:

Awesome, multi-touch is worlds better than in 4.2.12! Thanks Cyanogen!

  • Gentry:

Who uses their Android to make voice calls anyways? JK :) guess I’m waiting for 4.2.13.1 :)

  • MattMaria:

I’m also having the problem with not being able to make phonecalls with the extra Contacts.apk or the Contacts_wysie_2.7_apk.zip either. To make a phonecall i have to dial a contact from TouchDown. This works.
I also cleared the dalvik-cache to be sure, there is nothing old which may interferes.

  • RightYouAreKen:

Phone calls work fine here, but music player won’t launch in this build. Worked fine in 4.2.13. Anyone know how to get cyanogen logs? Seems like CM could use it’s own forum…
