Cyanogen, You are my everything. I love you. I want you to have my 2 boys as a form of payment. Your work is flawless. I enjoy reading the bible to my son and taking out Jesus’ name and inserting Cyanogen so that he may worship you as I do.

    Love,
    Soundwave

In general this mod works great, but I have a couple of problems.

Most importantly, I get a lot of missed text messages! (a couple each week) The problem seems to go away when I reboot, but comes right back a few days later. I also had one or two calls that never registered on my phone.

Also, downloading apps from the Market often fails. The Market apps itself often dies. The Music app also dies quite often, especially when Navigation is running at the same time.

Lastly, things seem to run pretty slowly, probably due to Apps2SD, but I have a class 6 card… is this expected, or maybe a bug?

Ditto to #2 Tibi for me. I’m on a G1 right now and waiting for the HTC Supersonic! I have to wait until December 2010. I always use the navigator. My G1 desperately struggles to function when i get a incoming call. And it locks up when I try and get back to the navigator. Also, when I lose GPS signal I have to reboot to regain signal. GPS comes on but will not lock in until I reboot and that is only sometimes. Web surfing while on a phone call is almost if not impossible. Are we supposed to be able to surf while on a call? Also, drops call quite frequently.

I’ve been suffering a problem with the alarm.
Sevaral times now, it has failed to go off.
I now need to set another alarm as I no longer can trust this ROM on G1.

Soundwave123 you should be careful of your words. Jesus is Lord whether you like it or not, God will deal severely with you if you continue to blaspheme against his name. Cyanogen has done a great job with this mod he does not need people like you giving him a bad rap..from what I see I think he is a Christian. Be careful, and say you are sorry to God. The afterlife is not a myth, it’s a reality.

only issues I have is that my email does not update automatically. I have it set to check every 15 minutes and it only updates when I manually go check it

has anyone else been losing sms messages? I don’t mean not receiving them, I mean losing them. I will get a notification that I recieved a message, and see it’s summary in the notifcation bar, but I go into “messaging” and the text is gone. So, unless it was short enough to fit in the notification, I don’t know what it said. I receive most of them, but it happens a couple of times a day.

I got a sms popup app to try and help the problem, so at least I can read long messages before they disappear forever.

Troy, I have two words for you: lighten up.

Granting you the benefit of the doubt (e.g, that God exists) I believe that He has a tremendous sense of humor (what, you don’t think He is capable of that?) and that if we’re truly made in His image, then it’s important for us to have one too. That you take your belief system seriously, I do not doubt … but it is not incumbent upon anyone else to feel the same way. If you can learn to laugh at your detractors, you will live longer, and irritate the Hell out of them besides.

Regardless, does anyone have any idea if there will be any more G1 updates? Not that I’m complaining … my G1 has never run so well. It’s just that one of my coworkers picked up a Nexus One and I’m kind of jealous.

I’ve been missing texts also. I like this ROM but i fear I may need to find another one. Please let us know if there’s a fix to this.

Screwmaster, Agree with you on both points. 4.2.14 is the most stable ROM I’ve ever installed. I have gone weeks without a reboot! I too have a friend with a N1. Nice phone but worth $500 more than my (CraigsList) G1……. No way.

I dont know wtf is going on, and I’m not sure if it has to do with CM or not, but my favorite album on my MyTouch3G keeps making Music (the app) force close. It worked in the past!

I tried deleting the folder on the SD card and then putting the files back on, but it didn’t help.

It’s just a My Morning Jacket album with 12-13 MP3 files. They’re not DRM or anything. Gah this is frustrating. It actually starts to play the file, then force closes, then keeps playing for 15 seconds or so. Any ideas? :(

I am having the same SMS issue, but I thought it might have been a problem caused by Handcent…never even thought about it being caused by CM…

This rom is just awfully slow. The next version about it is even slower. Never downloading cyanogen junk again.

No alarm clock app? Also the browser still doesn’t store credentials; I have to keep inputting my username and password for normal HTTP auth whereas an ancient release (4.1.2 or something) recorded this data fine to some sqlite db somewhere.

Desktop (Home) constantly restarts. Happens every time I unmount my SD card (not using apps2sd), and often just when I close various apps. Also seems to happen every time I make/receive a phone call. All icons/widgits have to reload, as well as everything in the dock. Makes the phone choke constantly, and is very annoying.

Yes, I have it set to keep home in memory.

Running on a MT3G. Anyone have any ideas?

Besides, cyanogen ROMs have been shitty since like version 4.2.5, that was the only stable one for me. The rest caused random reboots, loss of pics, text messages etc. It seems all the so called stable roms are really crappy experimental ones in my opinion.

Weird….how long does one have to practice to sound that creep, or are you a natural? Do you really think you’ve convinced Soundwave123 that the afterlife is not a myth?

cyanogen, you are my Thor. I believe He is You reincarnated, sorry to shatter all you Ancient Norse believers out there. Of course I do believe in reincarnation and Steve is Thor, and BTW, @troy and other believers, your God would not let have let Google and Android come into existence. Therefore he does not exist – they represent Open-Source and freedom, no rules. It will be called Christ Mythology 3000 yrs from now – Learn from the past. :_) a single tear.
