Here’s a new update for the Dream/Magic! Lots of bugs fixed, new Music and DeskClock apps from Eclair, improved stability.

If your having trouble with the home screen taking to long, wipe your dalvik cache and fix permissions. Usually clears it up. It will be a long restart as the dalvik cache is rewritten.

I have tried all the things that ppl are complaining about and found no problems. I do not ever do a factory wipe? Just dalvik cache and fix permissions. Apps2sd is running just as good as ever. Not sure what the issues are.

Just wana ask, does anybody else’s time in the notification bar get stuck? i.e. doesnt change after some time?the only way i can get it to work is when i reboot it sumtimes but to me it doesnt seem to change often.the clock on the homescreen i use does on the other hand and also when in sandby and when pressing menu it shows up with the correct time. its just the one in the notification bar.cheers

@richard #41: i upgraded from 4.2.5 to 4.2.14.1 and so far so good!

@hobbes: i think one of the best fix for the home app loading slow is putting the home app in memory. it makes wonders!

I really hate the new clock and the font is too large.

Here’s roughly what I did to get the old alarm clock back…

Grab unyaffs (& buld if necessary):
http://code.google.com/p/unyaffs/downloads/list

Grab your Nandroid backup system.img:
adb pull /sdcard/nandroid/$DEVICEID/$BACKUP/system.img .

3. Extract the image locally
unyaffs system.img

3. Stuff it back to the device
adb remount
adb push ./app/AlarmClock.apk /system/app/

Bluetooth continues to be very buggy for audio. Anyone have any ideas to stabilize a2dp?

i downloaded this and for some reason i cant get the in call volume to go up or down and the home screeen wont flip anyone can help me

First of all let me start by say that I think that the work you guy’s are doing is OUTSTANDING, just recently downloaded cyanogen 4.2.14.1, The only thing that I’m now having a problem downloading apps from the android market

Installed 4.2.14.1 today, Work Email app no longer works. Get a Sorry! error dialog:
“The application WorkEmail (process com.htc.android.mail) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.”

I tried to reinstall the mail.apk and it tells me me that it can’t be installed.

Help me Mister Wizard….

Before i start into the problem i am currently having, let me say that i absolutely love the work you’re doing!!!

The problem i’m having started a couple versions ago 4.2.9.1 or the one before it…the only thing i couldn’t do was update the Google Maps app from the market…kept giving me an error about an invalid hash key or something. I did some looking around and people claimed loading DRC83_base_defanged would correct the issue. I did so and the Market app will not load anymore, so i can’t find out if it fixes the Google Map issue.

Does anybody have any advice they could share with me?

Not a single issue with this build its quick and functions 100% for me. Im liking this release andappreciate the hard work your doing steve, keep it up but i will get a new phone in 5 months sad thing is if you dont have it dont think i will get it. now thats respect for you.

Screen lock does not work at all. I can wake phone by pressing any key.
Lock pattern does not appear. It seems it is caused by screen lock bug.
Hope to see these poblems fixed in next release.

One thing I noticed. I was unable to check a new text message while on a phone call. Not sure if anyone is noticing this. Maybe it’s always been like this, not sure.

Besides that, everything looks great. Keeps getting better with each release.

How do you wipe the dalvik cache and reset permissions? I’m having minor issues, BUT LOVE THIS VERSION. Much faster than 13.1 so far.

@Mike: dalvik-cache info is in the wiki.

This firmware’s been great for me. Wiped my G1, and installed over 4.1.10.1 (I think). Music app works, contacts work, et cetera.

The only issue I have now is one I’ve had for a little while: If I get a gTalk notification in the notification bar, trying to use it to jump to gTalk will cause gTalk to crash and force close. Anybody else have this?

Love the new clock app but it frequently cuts off the last digit of time in landscape mode. Anyone else have this problem?

My G1 freezes up over night while charging every time. Only app running is Alarm, and makes me wake up late. Don’t know if anyone else is have this problem on G1′s… Started doing it with the 4.2.13. That’s without having any themes on it.

Way more stable than previous, not experiencing ANY of the bugs above. MT3G, Factory wipe, drc83, cm update and SO fast.

I had “random reboot” problems with this update, but I fixed the issue by replacing my class 2 SD card with a class 6 SD card (as suggested in the Wiki).

Music app tabs (artists, albums, etc) are slightly displaced with Russian locale, probably because their names are longer in Russian.
Background of the bottom element with currently playing title also looks displaced.

Just wanted to say thank you for the best ROM so far! It was the first time I installed without wiping and everything worked liek a charm, even bettern than before! I backed up, installed, fixed permissions from the recovery menu console and that’s it! Thank you for keeping on working on those great releases!

I have used the new clock app in landscape mode heaps, it has never cut off any of the time digits. Maybe try different compatibility modes?

@roxxi: You’re not providing people with very much information yet. What phone? What fw were you running before? Did you do a wipe before upgrading? If not, start there.

Speaking of drc builds. I noticed alot of talk about drc83. I have never changed any radio..ect on the phone. (t-mo usa mt3g) The only thing I ever did was grab the base 1.6 and cyanogen mod. So.. I noticed that I have drc92. I remember seeing something that said it was a non us drc? Anybody know what it really is? Should I or can I drop to 83..ect?

i am running this rom and have the rogers on my phone and i have 1.12.22 as my radio on a EB10/32B ON phone but the incalling volume wont go up. do i need to wipe my phone or go to nanodroid to just back it up? i just dont want to reroot my phone again plz help

Installed great, rebooted fine, worked fine, until I rebooted my phone again. My EXT3 partition became corrupted and the phone wouldn’t boot. I most likely did something wrong…

hi i updated to 4.2.14.1 but something went wrong and now i can only see startup screen and no button combination can help i thinks its bricked. can anyone help please?

I downloaded 4.2.14.1 and now bluetooth tether doesn’t work anymore. I’ve also noticed that it won’t connect to my Mac laptop either. I’m still able to connect to my bluetooth headset though. Any ideas?

OK great working ROM for me, but I wish that browser bookmarks could be stored on the SD Card, that way when I flashed a new ROM I would not have to go and reload all the bookmarks again, this is getting old.
I have not found any problems with this ROM and I like the browser without that zoom button better.

This rom is using a lot more ram I use to get around thirty five to forty only getting thirty now anyhow rom seems faster but has problems with text much faster in 13

TMO MT3G. With 4.2.14.1 the contacts app is screwed up … when making a call, the last person I talked to gets displayed as the current caller, but the person I actually called gets added to the call log (albeit with enough delay that I have often called the wrong person by clicking on the green phone button immediately after hanging up with someone). Had to revert back to 4.2.13 which has worked flawlessly for me so far.

Call off the dogs, my own fault (kinda). I was trying to jump multiple updates in one shot, from 4.2.9 to 4.2.14. Yeah, I know I’m lazy but everything works so I leave it alone. I went back to 4.2.9, and updated one ROM at a time and all is well in the magic kingdom once again.

Thanks to everyone for all the hard work, you continue to make a great phone even better….

Updated from what? What phone? It’s hard to brick these phones unless you’re doing radio/SPL mismatched upgrades. CM doesn’t involve any of that last I checked.

If you pull the battery, put it back, and hold down Home while you turn the phone on (and keep holding Home), does nothing happen?

Which startup screen? The initial one, or the “Android” screen?

Does this Mod’s phone dialer app have a built in “Black List” function (ie on the menu on dialer) and also when a call is comming in by pressing the menu key?

…Or did one of my other apps put it there???

If it does, where do you access the “black list” to remove a # from it??? thx!

go to settings->Call settings->black list (scroll all the way down).

Not a single issue with this build, its fast and functions really well. Love the work!

After updating to this version I have come across the error “The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly.” This happens everytime I rotate the screen while I am on the home screen. I wiped the dalvik-cache, Fac reset, flashed the defanged, and then flashed Cyan’s latest and it is still happening. Anyone else seeing this?
