Here’s another tiny release that fixes a few irritating bug. The issue with the home icons disappearing sometimes has FINALLY been fixed. A big thanks to Zinx for finding this. FLAC audio is working again, and the new Google Voice app is working (there is no conspiracy, just a mistake in my build.prop).

Still got the wifi issues, as johnli reports, and still can’t trigger “Scan”, only auto-scanning working

I still have to use Google Voice 0.2 because with 0.2.5 my outgoing calls won’t show my GV number on the recipient’s caller ID.

Nevermind, I uninstalled and reinstalled from Market, and all is well in the world again.

Additional to #30. 50% of the time when coming out of sleep by pressing menu (no lock) I get the config page for the weather widget I was adding. Can’t find why it is not 100%
Something has gotten in a muddle as far as the home screen widgets/icons is concerned. Is there a way to clear this data as rebuilding my five screens is easy enough?
I am re-flashing 4.2.2 for good measure
BTW I have been CM since only 4.1.999 and did a complete wipe when I made the leap. Going 4.1.9999 -> 4.2.0 -> 4.2.1 was by putting *.zip on sd card, hold home on boot, etc ,etc. I used CM Updater for the first time when going to 4.2.2. Only on this version did I start getting oddities
Great stuff – you will have beer

I had problems with it slowing down after doing all the suggestions but went ahead and flashed all the way to 4.2.2. It’s all good now. I can’t believe how fast this puppy is! Thanks for everyone’s suggestions!

Love this soooo much. I am running 4.2.2 on my G1 and it is near perfection, the only problem is, after a while, I don’t get texts anymore. I Have to reboot every so often and it tends to get annoying. Anyone have a solution for this? If not the same problem?

great thing! The only big probem is the calendar not syncing. CPU usage stays at 100% until I disable sync of the calendar. email and contact sync fine.

Hi,
I am currently using 4.1.11.1 so you can probably tell i havent updated for a while. I have the G1.
Can i go straight to the newest build?
When will you put out an cmupdater (like before) on the market…? It was much easier to update that way.
Taa muchly

I want to install the v4.2.2 but on the step where it says to download the HTC image, the HTC webpage says that it is only for the Developer version of G1, and not the Dream G1… I don’t have a Developer version of the G1. Will it work???

I’m not sure where to suggest this so I thought a quick comment might be best. I’m aware this is pretty minor, but that might mean its easy to put back in, so here goes… In previous builds, when you wake up the phone but don’t yet unlock the screen, it was possible to pull down the notification bar. I didn’t notice it in 4.1.9999999
or now in 4.2.2 and wanted to let you know that I loved the feature and would welcome its return.
On that note, I love you. Thanks for all your hard work!

using 4.2.2 but home icons are still disappearing when using SMS Popup. I was also getting some weird behavior with Google Listen and 4.1.999 playing music at random. Problem seems to be fixed with 4.2.2

@CyanNewbie once you establish root access on a G1, it becomes a developer phone.

The PowerControl widget seems to be broken. It shows up, but it’s not possible to switch any control.

Having a problem with not being able to open the Dialer while a call is in progress. For example, when dialing my voicemail, I can’t expand the dialer to reveal the keys to delete voicemails or hit any number for that matter.

Does the voice dialer work for anyone? With any build (including stock)? It doesn’t do anything for me.

my voice dialer works. ive never used it much so im not sure how accurate the thing is supposed to be going.
it wouldnt let me say digits and pick it up right, but when i say call dave mobile it went right through.
i dont like having to click OK though or cancel, i would rather say yes or no, etc

Sicen I’ve put 4.2.2 on my Tmobile G1, theres this weird screen problem
The bottom and top of the screen become unresponsive. This usually happens after unlocking the screen.
The problem goes away when I Press End (standby) then press Menu to wake it up and unlock the screen.
As far as I know it didnt exist in 4.2.1… I’ll flash back to that rom and see what happens.

Really confusing update issue.
I have a question. I was updating a friend’s G1 from 4.0.2. I followed the instructions and everything was going through without a hitch. But as the G1 rebooted and began in install the Cyanogen ROM, the browser apk got corrupted and the installation was aborted. I was stuck. I didn’t know what to do as this never happened to any of the other updates I’ve performed on my g1. I had no choice but to reboot the phone. My friend’s phone is now stuck on HTC’s 1.6 ROM and I have no way (that I know of) to continue the update or even restore the phone through nandroid. The best I was able to do was use the backups we made in Mybackup Pro and get the phone running close to what it was before the attempt so she could at least use the phone.
As it stands now, I get this error when I boot into the default Recovery …E:Can’t open /cache/recovery/command The phone works for the most part but it’s obviously limited because of the unfinished update. I tried to get some help at XDA but the answers I got weren’t helpful for lack of clear explanations at points or the assumptions that the whole world is android/linux/command line savvy.
How exactly would I get my friend’s G1 from the HTC 1.6 ROM to 4.1.99 at this point? Any help from anyone to get this situation cleared up would be greatly appreciated.
