This is a fun release. We have USB tethering support (kernel drivers ported by Zinx), Bluetooth OBEX support courtesy of Erin@0xlabs, and some other goodies.

Why does the Audible Touch Tones not work? When I select that as an option within the sounds, it still does not work when dialing on the dial pad.

My final state is this:
If I disable USB debugging, then my storage works fine (still uses the microsoft storage drivers). If I enable USB debugging, then it still associates the android with the Microsoft composite usb drivers, and files to start the driver with an error message of Code 10.
The USB are 0c01 and 0c02 respectively in the two cases.
I am learning more about USB than I ever wanted to know

i ended up in teh same state…

editing usb.inf files and enabling this and disabling that…..

my end state was to roll back to 4.2.2 until the quirk is de-quirked.

I can send text messages. I get a notification i got one with a snippet of the message but when i go view its gone…. SOMETIMES they show up days later, but thats normally a hope and a dream.

anything i’ll take it… I’ve ran permissions fix script and rebooted twice just for the fun of it not sure whats going on.

This is the first time I have tried Cyanogen (or any other custom firmware) and I am really pleased with it!
I am running Linux, and am also having problems with ADB, I suspect because the phone is being incorrectly recognised as a networking device.
As such the incorrect driver is being loaded.
Hopefully someone will be able to fix this!

In addition to my previous comment:
I have now tried ADB on two computers, the first never had the phone connected with USB tethering turned on, and ADB still works.
On the second I tried tethering, and now ADB does not work.
The problem is definitely due to the drivers being used, once the device is tethered, this is replacing the ADB driver in the OS.

I’m runing cyanogen mod 4.2.3.1 with chimera… every time I get a phone call while my screen is up/open/landscape-mode it comes up with an error and rejects the call and losses signal for about 3 sec… and doesn’t even log the missed call?… is this a cyanogen or chimera problem? do you know if tethering option is something that is enabled by default? is it possible, maybe, that if we disabled tehering option prior to hooking up to pc that it wouldnt load those drivers?

just a thought. i am having same problems and have since rolled back to 4.2.2 because i cant get ADB to work.

Getting a force close trying to sync gmail. I have tried a reboot but still happening. Running 4.3.2.1 with no theme, was syncing without issue. Settings -> Data and Sync: shows that it has finished a sync, but I am not getting notifications and not seeing new emails. Here is the relevant log dump:

Solution of my problems: WIPE was necessary. Everything seem to be OK now (tethering was tested yet…).

is there a way that you can make it so that youtube does not automatically choose the default email as the account?
for example i have a youtube account with a different login than my default email account.

After updating to 4.2.3 on mytouch 3G, I can no longer access the marketplace, they make me login to my google account. I tried over wifi, with no avail. I do not have a data plan. I tried wifi, wont work, I tried restarting factory reset, won’t work. Tried everything on my list. I need help.

Somehow I can’t get connected to the mobile network?
I set up APN’s and reboot and nothing…. I get on the gsm so I recieve calls but can’t get to market or any other fun.

I checked status and it’s recieving my provider ID and the signal, but I can’t enable the mobile network.
Any Help would be appreciated

I seem to have solved the ADB problem, at least in linux/ubuntu.
You need to add two rules to the udev, rather then just one (which you would have needed before to use ADB).
Just copy the /etc/udev/rules.d/51-android.rules (needed for 9.10) or /etc/udev/rules.d/50-android.rules (for previous versions) so that you have both 50-android.rules AND 51-android.rules.
You will have to “sudo chmod a+rw 50-android.rules 51-android.rules” and then it should all work!

Major problem downloading app from marketplace when using WiFi. Once download begins connection flakes out, swapping between WiFi and EDGE. Works fine if I turn off WiFi, but WAY slow…

Okay, love the look and feel. I do have a few issues though.

1. Bluetooth does not stream music to my Bluetooth headphones. Actually, though the phone shows phone and media going to the headphones, I can’t get any of the phone’s sounds to go to the headsets (key clicks, etc…).

2. My pictures don’t show thumbnails in my gallery any more. The thumbnails don’t show up when I try to change my wallpaper either. There are place markers for the thumbnails, they just show up as grey squares.

Never mind on #2. It took a week, but I finally got my thumbnails. I just kept clicking them and they funally showed up.

3. Phone spontaneously shuts off. It doesn’t happen very often (once every 2-3 days), but it is very disturbing. I use my phone for business and I am on call. I can’t have my phone turning off in the middle of the night.

Anyway, hope this helps. Other than these issues, I love this mod.

Any future plans on letting us choose how many home screens we have?

Apologies, I’m a noob here and haven’t been able to google the answer, so here goes: I thought from previous posts that we had to somehow backup our Google-branded proprietary bits like Google Maps, GMail, etc., install CyanogenRom, then reinstall the proprietary bits. Where does that happen in the process? Or is it completely automatic? Thanks!!!

I have the latest cyanogen rom with a correctly partitioned 8gb sd but every time i install a new app my internal memory drops slightly. Is this normal? shouldn’t all data for the app go on sd only?

I have the same problem with like #17 no connection to login to the google-account. Reason i guess no internet connectin. after updating i set apn-settings but still no internet connection. i tried using wifi same problem no internet connection. if somebody can help don’t hesitate to answer

I found something very frustrating. I don’t know if it’s reported but here it is. After I setup my phone and setup my exchange account, all my contact of Google had pictures of contact in exchange. It really weird and I don’t know what happen. It’s very annoying because I needed to remove all the pictures one by one.

On other hand, very good release. It’s the first time that I use CM. It really kick ass. Fast, with great features.

Been using CM for a while it’s awesome, I’m a big fan. Been experiencing a weird bug the last day or so where the phone (g1) doesn’t stay awake from the touch screen alone. After a minute or so the screen fades and then goes black and I have to wake it up again even when I’m using apps. Only way around it has been to click the scroll button to keep it awake. Not sure if this is a CM issue or not, but I’d love some advice.

@Shane I was having the same fading screen problem with a few different CM versions. I finally went into the XDA/messaging program that comes with the build, went to settings->cusom screen timeout & turned it all off. Haven’t had the problem since (knocking wood)

I am experiencing a bug that causes my sim card not to be recognized after using airplane mode for approximately 12 hours. It is fairly consistent, happening about 75% of the time. I reboot the phone, and everything returns to normal. This is nothing that I can’t live with, but I wanted to make it known.

A strange thing happened to me with 4.2.3 – and this happenned 2 times:
My phone started ringing and I couldn’t pick it up or shut it. I had to disconnect the battery and get the phone to reboot.
Both times, it was connected via bluetooth to my car speakers…..

Im on 4.2.1 MT3G, and my phone will ring and I cannot pick it up, have to take the battery out, this happens about once a day now…also, I’ll click home and the screens will be blank and I have to reboot to get everything back, this has happened several time this last week. The build was stable for the first several weeks I had it and now it seems to be degrading over time…is that possible?

Im also having some troubles with answering calls. My MT3G will randomly force close when I get a call. Also im not able to add my yahoo email account to the email listings. I was able to do it prior to this mod, but now it says incorrect username or password and I know that I am putting the correct username and pass since I double, triple, and quardoople check it. I also need some help with getting my tether to work

the new mod’s do not have the correct addresses in for the IMAP and SMTP server settings.

your username and password are not the problem.

change settings…..

I am having the same problem with incoming phone calls on my MT3g, as stated above. The trackball will blink as it does when you are getting a call, but it won’t go to the incoming call screen. Sometimes it freezes, sometimes it auto reboots.

@nik: About HTC_IME not working

I uninstalled the existing HTC_IME and then reinstalled the HTC_IME and clicker (Downloaded from this site) again and now it works.

Is is just me having problems with this ROM allowing proper syncing of my mail and such? If so, I’m going to reformat my sd cards partitions and see if that helps. The hint to do this is that my notification tones don’t always play when things do finally come to the phone. I get the feeling something is getting confused somewhere and that’s the easiest place to start.

Any other ideas are welcome.

Has anyone had fairly regular problems receiving SMS? I have been having more lately. What happens is I’ll receive notification that a SMS has arrived, but it doesn’t show up on my device. I’ve verified that I should have received the message (as opposed to a false alert) from the sender. Could this be at all related to a ROM or is it more likely to be a carrier issue? Please, any help is appreciated. Thank you.

I love this MOD it is really good one. I am wondering by chance if you are going to bring back the Camera/Video Recorder that has the ZOOM option on it. That was a really really cool thing to have. Also it seems in your last MOD there were a ton of pictures that were included of what looks like your family and stuff. I became of Fan on Facebook and I plan on posting there a lot. Anyways not to take up to much more of you time.

I’m also having trouble with gmail. It force closes every time I try and open it. In the data sync page it never has shown last download. I’ve tried deleting cache from storage but nothing.. I wiped and reflashed and still does it. Hard reset doesn’t work either. Any suggestions??

Having problem with the new rom, i cant mount my phone on a PC. when i plug it into a PC it just chargers doesnt even give me the option to mount. Can anyone help?
