    Awesome mate

  2. #2 by Muammar on November 12, 2009 - 4:30 am

Very nice upgrade. But there is a typo in the spare parts. Above Font size it is written: Launcher rotatation, shouldn’t it be Launcher rotation? more than that just awesome as it is used to.

  3. #3 by Daniel on November 12, 2009 - 6:15 am

Nice! Thanks for the icons. Too bad you can’t do much about Google’s official apps… fortunately I don’t have any of them on my main screen.

Hopefully developers will adopt the new icon guidelines (even if they aren’t officially written yet) better than the old ones. I can’t think of even 5 apps that followed the current guidelines… that perspective view is just too damn hard for a non-designer, and few apps can actually count with a professional artist.

  8. #8 by Daniel on November 12, 2009 - 6:42 am

Am I the only one seeing a few duplicate settings on the browser?

  9. #9 by Unclefrancis on November 12, 2009 - 7:32 am

I have to flash every update, I can’t help it. Have always been happy with your rom, it keeps me excited about my g1. Thank you!

Does anyone know if you’ll need to re-apply the google maps navigation hack after upgrade to 4.2.4?

  13. #13 by HerSam on November 12, 2009 - 8:15 am

Great Job, upgrade to 2.4, but local and text setting limited for 6 countries only. Could you make to includes all countries as prev. version

In the browser settings, there are a few settings that are repeated…
“Lock in landscape,” “Hide notification bar,” and “Mobile Web Settings” appear twice, consecutively.

  15. #15 by Dik on November 12, 2009 - 8:29 am

I intall it just now, thank to the CM Updater that inform me.
Really nice icons, I have to test it before tell more… but always good work… Thanks Cyano!!!
It take SOME minutes in first run with ANDROID animated logo before start. atfter the first reboot 1 minute exactly for press power to home screen, like the 4.2.3.1

  16. #16 by Justin on November 12, 2009 - 9:34 am

Lovin the new icons! I was just reading through XDA about navi….seems mass sketchy, hopefully Cyan releases a mod with that soon.

  17. #17 by Chris on November 12, 2009 - 10:32 am

Personally, I’m hoping for multitouch keyboard support in 4.2.5 of 4.3/4.4. Unlesd I’m too drunk/dumb to know that its enabled. :-P

  18. #18 by tr3sor on November 12, 2009 - 12:13 pm

  24. #24 by JB on November 12, 2009 - 4:15 pm

I am seeing duplicates in the Browser settings as well. I’m not seeing crashes and the browser and market both seem to work fine for me. The updated icons look great!

If only I could figure out how to use USB tethering and Bluetooth OBEX. Is there documentation somewhere for this?

  25. #25 by paulie on November 12, 2009 - 4:29 pm

Any word on DivX support in the future?

  26. #26 by Lloyd on November 12, 2009 - 4:31 pm

Working on G1 which just did CM updater from previous stable build to this one. The calendar app is “stopping unexpectedly”. Would you folks suggest wiping and re-installing? Or is this a problem any of you are having?

Looks fantastic and all the work you do is incredible. Having my G1 feel zippier than my friends Droid is a testament to your work!

  27. #27 by Johnny 5 on November 12, 2009 - 5:19 pm

So you say this is the new (Eclair) version of google maps but there is no turn by turn navigation like on the Droid ??? whuts up ?

  28. #28 by Jason on November 12, 2009 - 6:03 pm

Upgrade was flawless, but my MyTouch3G keeps restarting. My G1 seems to be functioning fine.

  29. #29 by pvnr on November 12, 2009 - 6:14 pm

when i get a incoming call, Mytouch 3g is restarting.

  30. #30 by Dar on November 12, 2009 - 7:42 pm

After updating since last night, my G1 keeps rebooting. At this rate of rebooting, I don’t think the phone will last. What is going on? How do I fix this issue?

    Thanks,

  31. #31 by angelus on November 12, 2009 - 7:51 pm

This is the best cyanogen rom ever. Works perfectly. The previous builds I had a real problem with gmail being slow delivering emails to my phone and sometimes not at all. This one has none of that issue and I’ve noticed really fast no hangs at all! Thanks Cyanogen!

  32. #32 by several on November 12, 2009 - 7:51 pm

4.2.4 made my G1 spontaneously reboot itself every 1 to 3 minutes.

rolled back to 4.2.3.1 and all is well again.

any suggestions for getting 4.2.4 working right without wiping? would running fix perms after flashing help perhaps?

  33. #33 by Dar on November 12, 2009 - 8:02 pm

If I have to wipe, I will have to start adding apps and arranging them all over again and it is a time consuming process. A couple of posts here indicated the same issue of rebooting. Please fix and advise solution. Thanks,

  34. #34 by Kev on November 12, 2009 - 8:12 pm

4.2.4 flash works perfectly. just had to reboot the phone to get media to play through BT, not a problem. Also not experiencing any browser issues….google nav continues to work after update as well.

  35. #35 by CyanNewbie on November 12, 2009 - 8:41 pm

    @#12 Kev:
I applied v424 from v4231 without wiping, and I still have my modded Google Nav loaded and working. Yeah! I do not use the apps to SD. So far so good.

Cyan tweeted, he is NOT going to include a Google NAV mod in his mods.

  36. #36 by ACTPOHABT on November 12, 2009 - 8:45 pm

Is calendar sync issue ever going to be fixed in cm roms?

  37. #37 by manu on November 12, 2009 - 8:54 pm

Hi, I just upgrade and everything looks ok. How can I get Google Nav in my htc magic? thank you

  38. #38 by Mooed on November 12, 2009 - 9:15 pm

Almost perfect for me… Just a little problem with the “azerty” who never apears, even after a reboot.
I just remplaced those files with some founds elsewhere :
    system/lib/ libt9.so
    system/app/ Clicker.apk, HTC_IME.apk, LatinIME.apk
    And now all is okay.

Big Thanks for your work !

  39. #39 by Hunter on November 12, 2009 - 9:51 pm

So I posted earlier about how I had just barely upgraded to 4.2.3? Well Google voice wasn’t working on 4.2.3 and now it is. You fixed my problem with an update an hour after I discovered I had a problem. Thanks Cyanogen!

  40. #40 by Flynhawaiian on November 12, 2009 - 9:59 pm

Maybe someone can answer my quick question but I just purchased the motorola droid last week but would the new version of cyanogen work on my motoral droid or do I have to wait for a specific ROM to come out for that?

  41. #41 by Dan on November 12, 2009 - 10:09 pm

Flynhawaiian — personally, whether it works or not I think it would be a silly move, because you’d be going from Android 2.0 to 1.6 (albeit, a heavily modified version).

  42. #42 by SXRXE on November 12, 2009 - 10:54 pm

    Nice update :)
Is it possible for the phone to vibrate when we receive a text?
As me and my friend can’t find any way to enable this.
Oh yea, we are using G1s

  43. #43 by several on November 12, 2009 - 11:06 pm

Noobish question: If I run a nandroid backup under 4.2.3.1, then wipe and then flash to 4.2.4, will i then be able to restore from that nandroid backup or will it fail due to the different rom version?

(4.2.4 makes my phone reboot every 1 to 3 minutes, so I want to try a wipe but, not if i have to re-enter, reinstall, reconfig everything.)

  44. #44 by Reality3k on November 12, 2009 - 11:08 pm

My home screen was reduced from 5 panels to 3 panels. Basically I can’t get to the right 2. Anyone else seeing this?

  45. #45 by Reality3k on November 12, 2009 - 11:10 pm

Ah hah! Found it. There’s an option in the home submenus and it had defaulted to 3 for some reason.

  46. #46 by Stoo on November 12, 2009 - 11:16 pm

    Polish Language not found :( :( :( Why ?
    -Greetings from Poland

  47. #47 by Kevin on November 12, 2009 - 11:47 pm

    Cool stuff.
But i can’t get apps downloaded from Markets while WIFI is on. (I can with 3G connection).

And one suggestion: if you could add some more options in the phone options (the menu when holding the power button) like Vibrate mode, etc..

    Thanks.

  48. #48 by eric on November 12, 2009 - 11:49 pm

I have adp 1, and have had up to 4.1.99 however do not now. Was in JF 1.42 with the 1.24 radio (?) I think, when I reinstalled CM updater 4.2 and did what I hoped would be an update to 4.2.4
    The SD is not partitioned.

Here is my problem: I am stuck in the first ANDROID screen, and nothing seems to be happening. How long should I wait before trying to reboot? What else might I try?

  49. #49 by nemo on November 12, 2009 - 11:54 pm

the flash worked great without wiping. Thanks for all the hard work!
