Woo! first comment! :]
Cant wait to see what this holds!
Downloading now
Took a long time to boot up
Just amazing. I was alittle worried when I did the one before this (bootloops) but so far in to this one I’m good. Man this is fast too, the biggest performance boost I have seen so far.
Long time booting up isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It’s pretty common when you first do an upgrade. It shouldn’t be that long if you need to restart for whatever reason.
Cool menu animation. So far so good – but I really didn’t have any of the other issues that were posted with 4.2.4.
Updating NOW!!!
It’s booting up! Can’t wait! Thanks for the birthday gift!
Happy B-day Cyanogen!
Installed it and it looks very promising (as in faster). Loving the transition animations on this one.
People beware, Android modding may quickly develop into a habit.
Now I need to sleep quickly (dreaming Androids jumping the fence, I guess).
Cheers!
Shonzilla
I don’t see any difference in the menu animations am I missing something that needs to be enabled?
I immediately noticed the speed difference. This update has by far the biggest performance boost of any recent versions. Thanks for all you do, Steve. Another round of beers is on its way!
Can anyone help with the wifi tether ?
I cant find any connect buttons or anything. I do see the USB tether but not wifi.
Ah is it when I hit menu on my phone and the menu pops up? I should have known that.
Is something wrong with my CM Updater? I’m still waiting for it to show me 4.2.4, let alone this latest update.
@ kabbie
WiFi tether is a separate app that you have to download
thanks …..kemikev
This is a huge speed boost on my g1! Thanks a ton. Also this update made a duplicate of the “messaging” app in my app list.
Absolutely love it sooo quick my favorite so far….. any plans on working on the Motorola cliq ???…..
Cyanogen is rocking…
I just installed on myTouch 3G.. I dont see any visual diffrencess.
Same here, I am not able to get cm update to find 4.2.5 (even 4.2.4). Something wrong with CM updater?
Is there a place that lists all of the notes/updates specific to each individual build? Maybe I’m just dumb, but I don’t see them anywhere.
So far, though, so good. Just curious to know what (specifically) was changed/added.
This update deserves a comment. I haven’t put it through my normal days’ use yet, but I already appreciate the new transitions and animations. Nice touch. Also, is it me or has the video recording/playback been given some juice? Just seems much better…
Thanks as always!
@Nick, the XDA Developer link at the top gives a detailed changelog.
love it! thought it was 2.0 tho
sad to see its still 1.6, but the speed boost was well worth it! noticed a lot of my widgets no longer work.. strange… when can we expect 2.0? lol and not to seem pushy but how bout the new google maps??
seriously tho thanks for all you do!
The speed boost is because of the Eclair Dalvik’s JIT support… one of Android 2.0′s killer features.
Wow! super-duper fast, kicks 4.1.9999′s ass speed-wise. Another great release from Cyanogen
ok may be a stupid question but in recovery mode im not getting the alt a option or the apply any zip. what do i do
definitely a big improvement as far as speed goes from previous releases. Great stuff!!! Much appreciated sir!
ok never mind my last post i feel stupid im such a newb. i never really had the recovery image installed..lol
Now:
CyanogenMod | Android Community Rom based on Eclair tree.:
Downloaded but waiting for kernel port from Radix999 since 32A……….
Booooo…………..
wayyy faster, Beware bootup takes FOREVER first time after update, considerably longer than other up dates So hold back on that urge to take the battery out, Just b patient
Thanks for the great update!
love it.
some google apps dont work… should i wipe?
Working perfect but still cannot wait to get a full 2.0 install up and running. And Steven keep up the great work man!
Thank you
I’m downloading it right now with cm updater, I’ll check it out. The posts are very positive, can’t wait to flash it, it just finished.
coincidentally exactly what I asked for in my last comment…now I just hope I can get the other graphics from motoblur and htc clock widget! Drizzy Drake’s motoblur rom is pretty sweet but it’s crippled in some areas unfortunately, great work cyanogen! You keep it legal man cause I’d hate for anything to happen to you again! I’m gonna donate next time!
The performance boost is excelent, it almost doesn’t lag and some applications are just on the screen after touch
Thx for the good work
I *love* the speed boost. And the new animations are much nicer, too. Thanks again (and again and again..) and keep up the great job!
The speed boost is amazing….totally worth it
But the touch screen on my browser ain’t working at all…..wen I hit the action with my trackball…the onscreen keyboard comes up and works well………other than tat……no sensitivity on my browser….help plsss!!!!!!
CMUpdater tells me that there’s no update available :-/
I’m still stucked at 4.2.3.1
Great update! Huge performance boost!
All google apps are working nicely – My Tracks, Sky Map, Google Mail, GTalk and Maps – so no issues on my G1.
Over 2 seconds boost in BenchmarkPi comparing to 4.1.9999
If this performance lasts after few days of regular use, this is the ROM I’ll keep on my phone for a while.
when will 2.0 come out?we‘re waiting for it?
Installed and working perfect …
any Idea to add more option of region (locale and text) ,
currently only 7 countries there ?

Hi everyone, I am finally looking to root my htc dream. I have the australian version. Can I get some guidance on how to install this mod on a stock handset please? I need to save my contacts & sms messages, so some advice on this would be good also.
Is the “one touch” root necessary/the way to go, or is there a better method? This will be my first phone root attempt, so no previous experience. If there is an up-to-date walkthrough someone could recommend I’d appreciate it.
Adrian
Has anyone else lost Google maps with the 4.2.4 and 4.2.5 updates? Was left with a box icon that when clicked says that Google maps is not installed and now I cant find it on the market either.
Both Google Maps and Google Navigation will work with this update.
If you’re looking to install Google Navigation, I recommend searching XDA for the update_navigation file. Makes the process as easy as installing Cyanogen’s updates, and works flawlessly.

4.2.5 still has the spontaneous reboot issue on my G1. Returned to 4.2.3.1 unfortunately.
WOW! This is super fast!….My G1 is flying!!!
