Have Vodafone Magic with 32b. I am still stuck on 4.2.3.1 which runs well and was installed in the prescribed manner with no issues. I cannot upgrade to 5.2.4 or 5.2.5 successfully. I have tried every which way I can with the same result . The install seems to run fine with no errors but when phone is rebooted there is only a notification bar visible and a blank screen underneath. None of the keys work either. Have no idea what to to now apart from wait for a version that works for me

Great version but is anyone having issues with spontaneous reboots? It occurs at least 10X a day on my G1. Can someone tell me what info they will need (and where i can get it off my phone) in order to diagnose the issue. Your help is kindly appreciated.

hmmmmm, I’m having problems with SMS Backup. Appears that it logs in just fine, then crashes when it tries to backup the first message. I tried to reinstall SMS backup, but yet that made no difference.

Will Eclair (Android 2.0) be eventually available for rooted HTC Magic? Just want to know if there is a point to wait for it… Thanks!

  • BG

    RE: Google Nav Mod

Anyone else have a problem when selecting a destination from a ‘contact’, and the phone doesn’t do anything????

If I select the point by tapping destination on map/screen, that works…

  • jtman

My GV application is not working with the “callback” feature with this build. It works again when I switch back to an older build. Will I completely lose GV as the switch to 2.0 happens?

  • grey

RE: #14 I too am now experiencing problems with SMS Backup force closing on me, this was not previously an issue with earlier cyanogenmod builds.

    Wonder what bug got introduced…

  • Tom

Thank you so much for the work you do. You have given us the ability to turn our cool toys into amazingly functional tool and even COOLER toy. Keep up the great work!!!

Great ROM! Working just perfect on my HTC Magic. Yet still one minor question: I’m using China Unicom service with WCDMA, and there is no LOGO of this company on the lock screen, as I had China Mobile before when I used China Mobile service. Would you pls see to it?

  • BaxBax

    Thanks for this realese.

Very fast! Only one problem: the market doesn’t start.

    Thanks for this realese.

Very fast, on my G1! Only one problem: the market doesn’t start.

  • Vee

Cyanogen, first of all thx for the ROMS! They are really good and fast.

I dont know if i am the only one with that problem: When i go to Camera and press menu and go to settings i get force close. Can you please look into that. Thank you!

    Anyone has the same problem?

  • Rob

Anybody here use Handcent SMS? I do and I’ve been told my messages are sometimes sent twice. Just wondering if it’s an app, or ROM problem. I’ve searched online but haven’t found anybody else in the same situation.

  • Dryale

I updated to 4.2.5 and updated apps – Locale,Listen,AdFree. For the last month my android was running slow as hell. Every time i turned on screen, something was plugging away at the internet. After above installs, sys is blazing fast again. Constant internet usage is completely gone. Soo happy. Wish i could tell whether it was Mod or app update. Teach me to do phased R&D next time.

  • Dryale

    Sorry, Also updated HandcentSMS

    Hi Cyanogen,
Love your OS! Can’t think of going back to the regular T-Mobile versions. Main draw for me is the new features. I do think my phone is fast enough, but since I haven’t used a standard OS for some time, I can’t compare.

One issue I have with 4.2.5 (was also true for 4.2.3), is that my phone does seem to go on a blink periodically. This will either happen by it not letting me pick up the phone or the keys getting locked up. Know this isn’t enough information for you to debug anything, but want to let you get some stats. If there is some information I can provide you, I would be happy to, but my phone is pretty frozen in most of these cases.

I do need to reboot (by taking out the battery) every one to three days.

Any way to edit comments made earlier?

Since applying 4.2.5 (over 4.2.3.1) and applying the Enoch theme from cm-updater my phone has continued to reboot about every 30 minutes or so. I reapplied just 4.2.5, still reboot, then did a reset (thank goodness for apps2sd?)…still rebooting. adb stays connected across the whole event, so I have logcat output and debug captures.

I noticed ‘free’ no longer reports any swap…not being terribly familiar with the Android env, I assume this was compcache, no gone or zeroed? I have a 32MB swap part on my 8GB C2 card, and swapon will mount it, which extends the break between reboots. Free mem and swap eventually deplete and she bounces down and up.

Looking for guidance on A) proper forum to interact on this matter and B) next steps and info to gather.

CyanogenMod has saved my G1 from the heap…vast improvement over the stock ROMs. Now I want to solve this problem and get back to my normal dependency on this fab tool.

    Thanks! ~sh

  • Cool Robert

This + the Enoch Theme is the greatest experience I’ve had on Android! Hands down! Thank you soo much for all you do!

  • tony

“work Email” not working anymore, why?

  • sombionix

GREAT GREAT GREAT! Love this ROM. Installed it a few days ago and so far I have only noticed one small issue. Seems to force close a lot while I’m browsing the marketplace. Aside from that, GREAT!

Please add in your next cm release russian local, we miss it!

Hey guys love your mod. Ive been using it for a while now with no problems, but that all changed with 4.2.4 were i’ve run into a horrible freezing problem. I use a USA g1 32b version with a 8g class 4 sd card with it formated were linx swap has 32mb and ext4 has 517mb and the rest fat32, and their ordered fat2, ext4 then linux swap. The Freezes occur randomly but normaly when i go to unlock the phone or a function just after the unlock forcing a battery pull and sometimes the same thing were it freezes after the reboot forcing me to pull the battery again. Also its been happening more when the battery has fallen less than 50% hope this helps!

  • Verizon Eris Customer

Anyone have any luck placing the firmware on the HTC Droid Eris yet?

  • Phong

    Hi

I just updated my HTC Magic 32A with cyanogenmod 4.2.5, and I found it quite nice. However I am having trouble with the 3g function? I cant seem to connect to it, or even find menu where I could search for the 3g providers?

    Can anyone help me?

  • Josh B

Been upgrading since pre-non google versions. I quick question for the group: I’ve recently noticed that my camera app doesn’t have the “zoom” slider like older versions. Is it supposed to still have that?

  • http://crsantos.info Carlos Santos

Portraits on address book are slowing down my scrolling.
But btw, Good good rom! All runs smooth! Ty!

  • jeff

hey cyanogen just wondering, r u planning on releasing a hero rom or r u just staying on donut?
btw really nice work so far man

  • Sean

Nasty bug that disappeared when I went back to prior version: Could not scroll or click on web pages. Even after a reboot! :) Waiting for next version. Thanks!

  • Bjorn

    Hi!

Very nice and stable rom indeed! But I have a question, since I updated my phone (magic 32b) with 4.2.5 I don’t have the dutch language pack anymore, so my phone is english, which is not a problem, but Touch Input doesn’t reconize my Duthc sms typing anymore, which is very annoying. Does anybody know how to get the dutch language back?

    Greets!

  • igor

Don’t have twitter account yet so writing here. I think I would be great if you would release the eclair as an experimental build without camera and video working. Since it is an experimental build people should not complain.

    Cheers,
    Igor
