Anyone else having problems with the the Market after the upgrade?

I try to access the market and get the following error:

A server error has occurred. Retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen.

4.2.6 is my first time rooting. The only thing I’ve noticed so far after 12 or so hours, happens to be one of my favorite apps. SMS backup crashes after backing up 1 message. From what I’ve read this was a problem that started with 4.2.5 I just thought I would mention it here to make sure the right people noticed it was an issue. Thanks!

I still have a massive issue with Android where folders that I use constantly will cease to be responsive. At some point [that I'm still trying to find], opening a folder on one of the Home screens won’t do anything. Have to reboot.

Also, is there any way to get a choice between the old icons and the new Eclair icons (for gallery, camera, settings, etc)? The new icons are terrible.

@45, the french localisation of date and time is broken either, like it was a few builds ago…

It also seems to drain more quickly my battery, but it’s just a feeling. Lost 4% in 2 minutes of 3G market.

All works beautifully EXCEPT SMSBackup (Christoph Studer). Still crashes every single time after 1st message is backed up. I’ve seen several others post this – can anyone shine a light on this issue? Otherwise, AWESOME!

just upgraded from 4.2.5 on my mt3g and evwrything looks great so far I like the new dialer as well

Same issue with 4.2.5 and 4.2.6. When exiting out of numerous apps I loose everything on all of my home screens. I loose every app shortcut and widgets. I’ve rebooted and my shortcuts/widget is back. I opened the browser and hit the home screen and all shortcuts are gone. I know the phone isn’t frozen cause I can change to any of the other home screens and see the background moving and re-add a shortcut. If I reboot after re-adding my shortcuts then I get shortcuts on top of other shortcuts. If I had a the power control widget on my desktop at the time everything disappeared, then put a shortcut in the same spot then rebooted I see the app shortcut sitting on top of the widget. I’ve rebooted 4 times within the past 10 mins

new donut to root upgrade after1yr w/Tmobile G1.
used cyanogen wiki:

via cm-recovery1.4 to flash to cm 4.2.5, partitioned 8GB SDclass 6 to fat32,320M ext3,32M swap,std G1 SPL (tri color) nice no probs……

used cyanogen updater4.5.1 to upgrade to cm4.2.6 perfect,fast, will never go back!!

any chance to make the yellow vol,and yellow highlight function an option to the blue menu highlight color on your website? and make a minimal home screen drawer icon tab.

Wifi tether works ok with wireless tether for root users app. And, I can get usb tether via pdanet but without it, I can’t get usb internet tether to work. Does usb internet tether work without the pdanet app? Thanks again with all the work!!

Works excellent. I’ve moved from 4.1.99 without any problems. Google Maps updated with no any problems!
It is faster and more smoothly thany my previouse version. Good job!

Just installed a fresh 4.2.6 and noticed that the latest google maps fails to upgrade.
It says – Package file was not signed correctly.

For the sake of clarity: I haven’t had any problems with this latest update. My issue is Android specific, and is not related to anything Cyanogen. This build seems to be running quite well. Just getting more and more ugly.

Last night I rooted my MT3G to 4.2.3.1 and it is working great! But when I try to use CM Updater to go to any higher version it just hangs at the MyTouch load screen on reboot. What am I doing wrong? Are there published steps on how to upgrade to 4.2.6? Please help?

With this update, my sceen is useless while in browser and in-call. I have to use the keypad and scroll wheel. This is on a g1. I might have to revert to 4.2.5

Ever since i upgraded to 4.2.3.1 and then all the way up to 4.2.6, my phone will randomly shut down. The battery level will show full and then it will shut down as if the battery is dead. Could it be the battery or something else. It will crash mainly when i go to use any app.

HELP…i tried to update the new rom…but now its just stuck in the g1 boot screen. I just did a nandroid backup and now its still stuck at the boot screen. Should I just wipe it

Thanks for this release Cyanogen.
Just upgraded form 4.2.5 and for the first time, the included IM app is working (using MSN) on my Aussie HTC Magic. I used to just get a message about “cannot find number on SIM” or something like that, but its all fixed now! Thanks.
Also, am loving the new Eclair icons etc.

For some reason I dont have the wireless tether app and I don’t see the eclair art. Anyone has this issue?

Two questions:
1. I’m not seeing Cyanogenmod 4.2.6 when I load up my CM Updater. I’m using the G2 Google Ion (dev phone, 32A I believe) running Cyanogemod 4.2.5 and when I open up the CM Updater it only shows three versions of CGM in “Please select the ROM to download”: 4.2.5, 4.2.4, and 4.2.3.1.

2. My university uses WPA2 Enterprise, with a user/pass and (I’m told) 802.11x encryption. For whatever reason I only see the wireless network displayed as a WEP login in the built-in wireless network list (possibly a second wireless network with the same SSID). I’ve heard that android can’t detect WPA2 enterprise. Any chance Cyanogenmod solves this problem? Any tips?

For those of you using smsbackup, may I suggest Mybackup pro…. only 5 bucks and i never had any problems with it….

S1apchop As far as losing the home screen shortcuts, widgets and apps, this happened to me on the stock rom too… u said it yourself, you’re using a lot of apps when this happens… give your phone a minute to catch up cuz if u reboot then your phone will SAVE your home as empty…

Interesting… It appears that the phone will reboot at 12:00am. (Happened twice already) MT3G with 4.2.6

Im having the same issues as Comment #7, Both 4.2.5 and 4.2.6 are Forces Closing on my home screen and when i return to my home screem from anyother app my home screen Blacks out for 32sec before loading back it also dose that on incoming phone calls and i have no way of seeing the incoming phone.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don’t believe Mybackup Pro does the same thing as SMS Backup. SMS Backup sends all messages to a folder in your google mail.

Did SMS Backup work in the version before 4.2.5?

I’ve enjoyed All of your CM updates but i was not sure whether or not i’d address you with this… I can’t update the google maps app… keeps telling me that the package was not signed correctly after it downloads and attempts to install. Hey awesome work cyan!!! What exactly is the eclaire art? Wallpapers? Animations? I haven’t noticed anything different. Also 2 random reboots this morning while browsing the web. Any1 else have this problem?

NEED HELP! MT3G, can load 4.2.3.1 just fine, but nothing higher. 4.2.5 just stalls at MyTouch splash screen (left it for 15 minutes). 4.2.6 goes to black for about 5 minutes then displays the lock screen but it is sized wrong and won’t respond. I’ve tried clean installs and using CM Updater, no go. Really want to try 4.2.6 but don’t know what to do! =(

I’m on the edge trying the CM. Everybodys talking very nice about the new releases… I have one question that I hope someone will answer:
1) does bluetooth work as with the standard Magic ROM? Heard alot about it not working with different ROMs but cannot find the answer with Cyanogens? Does bluetooth work with normal bluetooth headsets when making calls. (I’m depending on this feature ’cause I use it in the Hands-free solution in my car)

@katzenstreu with german localization i only ment the date/weekdays are not diplayed in german. for weekdays the translation is completely missed, and date is displayed in format 2009-30-11… i don’t think that this has any influence on the keyboard

which i had downloaded from the pc. can i use that same theme with the 4.2.6

4.2.6 was a bit buggy for me — random reboots, force closes, etc — all of which haven’t ever really happened before. Went back down to 4.2.5 — all good so far.

So that devs may learn from my bugs, is there a way I can submit error logs or something similar? (Do error/crash logs even exist?) I’m nothing but grateful for all @cyanogen’s hard work and would like to help pinpoint my device’s problems, if that’d be possible & helpful.

Thanks Steve. 4.2.6 works well. Can someone show me how to install the old dialer skin (the one with round buttons)? The square buttons and fingers don’t get along.
