postheadericon CyanogenMod-5.0 Beta5 (Nexus One)

Beta5 for Nexus One is now available. This release is based on the new ERE27 code from AOSP which includes the native multitouch app support.

This should be the last beta unless major issues are found. Also be sure to check out the wallpapers from SatanR1 in the downloads section of the site! I’ll be including some of these in the final release.

More info available at XDA Developers.

  • mark:

is the radio image something that is also new?

  • Could somebody please explain what Native MT support will get me? I seem to have pretty good MT support with beta4 already.

  • geeroid:

why do you need to flash the radio? is it necessary?

Love it everything running fine n works great. I can’t wait for apps2sd hopefully be on the non beta. Can’t wait for it keep up the good work. O is it possible to make nexus faster? It doesn’t really need to be but would be awesome

  • Glad the accelerometer and wifi bugs were fixed early on. Fast as always to respond. Keep up the good work.

  • A friend of mine just emailed me one of your articles from a while back. I read that one a few more. Really enjoy your blog. Thanks

    Hi there!
My battery drained fully in 12 hours of standby (overnight) whereas it used to last ~2 days of irregular phone use (no apps).
My wifi now seems to stay connected while I’m in standby mode, whereas it used to disconnect after a short while, and I suspect that may be the culprit.
Is there any way to restore the “disable wifi while in standby” function?

  • Rich:

Argh, sorry. Meant to post the preceding comment on 4.2.14.1.

    Please delete.

  • Wimp35:

What happened to the google friend connect thingy?

  • Ryan:

Hi Cyanogen, impressive! I have 3 issues with N1, hope your future release will tackle:

    1. I need STK support, it’s weir that N1 doesn’t support it
    2. I know the FM radio hardware is there, would it be possible to port the Radio from other HTC phone to N1 to make it work?
    3. Battery drain so fast, is it the reason that it keep running while in standby mode? can it be fixed?

    Appreciated your kind attention!

  • MagicBlaze:

This build looks great n I c no problems I have a question tho
How long till we see something like this for the g1/mt3g ?? Is 4.2.14 the last of the updates we’re gonna see for a while ??

  • Although beta, still working great. Cyanogen is gonna be releasing a final build soon.. maybe tomorrow. And I am happy fir that.

  • f2:

I have one little issue: After an hour wifi stops working and only it reconnects only after a reboot … :(

  • f2:

PS: Thank you for your work! =)

After following this for almost a year, I regret to say I finally gave up on my HTC Magic and bought an iPhone. I work full-time and do an evening MBA, just want to make phone calls and be able to email easily. iPhone just beats Androids keyboard by leaps and bounds. And after my bad experience with Magic I am not willing to give Nexus a try, especially with all the bad news. Thank you for listening.
