  • HunGAa

I don’t know why but this build made my phone slower than the previous build 4.1.999

  • http://www.litefm.se bjoli

Most stable CM I’ve tried. Upgraded from 4.1.99 without wipe. No FC or unexpected reboots since upgrade (36h ago). Great work!

  • Brian Resnik

This build has issues with bugs being exposed in BFS by compcache. Cyanogen has released a beta patch and will, it seems, be disabling compcache by default in future builds. Join #cyanogenmod on irc.freenode.com and look in the topic for links to information.

In the meantime, I recommend waiting for 4.1.five-nines which he will probably be releasing soon.

  • Zencyde

I really like the new policy of adding extra nines. Why go up by a number when you can go up by a magnitude? Keep ‘em comin’. :)

  • Stevenlb

Anyone else having problems with their accelerometer?

  • Stevenlb

Scratch that, I’ll check myself next time before asking a Frequently Asked Question here.

  • Rusty

Will this upgrade do a wipe? This is only the second time I’ve upgraded my phone with CyanogenMod. I was previously using JesusFreke’s and I’m still not quite sure on Cyanogen’s process for upgrade. This mod is working pretty well for me.

  • Hunter

4.1.999 and 4.1.9999 both have a problem with auto-rotate for me. After performing the auto-rotate, everything on my desktops is gone and I have to restart the phone to get them back up. I have since turned off auto-rotate to keep from losing everything.

  • buzzdroidx

quick question… when loading this do i need to run the cammands to enable the compcache as usual with your builds or does the userinit and compcache links in the init.d folder automate this for me?

  • tyson

Upgraded but no longer have extended options anywhere. Not a huge deal really just curious if I screwed something up. Much better than 4.1.999, no crashes since release date. Thanks!

  • Dylan

-Hunter- i’ve had this problem on the last few builds download advanced task manager & kill the “Home” process under the processes tab & it will bring your icons back. Kinda like killing explorer.exe in windows (uck) in the ctrl+alt+del screen. Doesn’t fix the problem but it’s quicker & easier than rebooting each time.

  • lavawallz

Sup… like the rom its really fast keep the 9′s coming… and I just wanna put it out there this whole rooting and cyanogen g1 and xda devs. And all the devs that are out there I just wanna say thanks this whole messing with my phone thing wanna make me think about my future I wish I had some doh. I be back in school to dedicate myself to become a future technician…thanks again devs for your time.

  • Qverse

    Extended options ?
Now I wondering if I have to wipe…?
and or if it will make a difference? Dylan “killing Home” process did not work. Nor did rebooting . Doesn’t fix the problem. anyone has same prob or fix.?

  • j05h

“SD filesystem checker should be less likely to eat your data”

A couple days ago every time I turned my phone on and off, files disappeared from the FAT partition of my SD card. I bought a new card because I thought my SD card was bad. Was it or was it this bug and the SD card is fine? I’m still at 4.04 BTW.

  • brie987

Did the 9′s but have major problems with “Tether with Root” app, need that app. Went back to 4.1.11.1, this really works nice for me. Staying parked here till 4.2 thanks.

  • yz99

It appears that there might still be issues with bluetooth with the latest 4.1.9999 on mytouch – it doesn’t recognize jawbone bluetooth headset for some reason.

  • owen66

when i ‘home+power’ reboot, it boots me only to a warning screen (triangle, exclamation point) and i can’t do anything? i tried poking around some forums, but didn’t find much. any help? thx

  • Moksha

for me market isn’t working anymore (I have wipe twice)

    **Bug Report**
Hey Cyan, i’ve been messing around with my Dream for a while now, and am hoping to assist, however i dont know how to make an official bug report. I do have a strong linux background, just havent gotten much into the dev of android yet.

    I’m running 4.9999 on a G1.
It seems whenever a call comes in, and you press back to ignore it, the notification bar becomes locked in place. Whats more it seems any activities done on the touch screen wont prevent a screen timeout, though you do still have control of on screen actions. Also, touching anything on the screen will not bring back a dimmed screen from a timeout.
    **Aditional Notes**
If you press end to ignore the call, everything stays normal. If you do nothing, and the call goes to vm on its own, it stays normal. It only has this affect when pressing back to ignore a call. Requiring a reboot every time.
I have tested this theory to death on mine and my fiance’s Dream. It happens every time.
Please let me know what if there is anything else i can do to assist. I love your builds, and am an avid supporter.
    Thanks!
    Ken

  • Ken Allison

**Follow up to above post. **
Just discovered, if you accept an incoming call while bugged, it reverts everything back to normal, giving full access to the notification bar. Also, activity on the touch screen will wake up a screen timeout and prevent a screen timout.
    Thanks!
    Ken

Just a little bug for us not English people : some apps like “camera” -> “settings” won’t work in French for example (app crashes).

Also, where is the option to remove the notification about USB debugging ? It’s annoying and it makes noise everytime I plug the phone.

Some other questions not yet answered : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=570590

    Thanks in advance

I am trying to load your new almost stable ROM and for some reason it never gets past the G1 logo. I’ve waited as long as 20 minutes before and still nothing. I wipe it every time before flashing the ROM so I don’t understand what could be going wrong. Any suggestions? Thanks

  • Danny

    @ owen66
I ran into this a few days ago when I was playing around with different custom roms. Somehow your recovery image got screwed up, and you need to reinstall it. I’m not sure if there’s an easier way, but I ended up going though the whole unroot process and rooting my G1 all over again to fix it using the tutorials here http://theunlockr.com/2009/10/15/how-to-root-a-donut-phone-android-1-6/

  • Danny

    @owen66 (again)
Maybe there is an easier way. Here’s a much simpler solution from the same site http://theunlockr.com/2009/10/15/how-to-flash-a-new-recovery-image-if-you-are-already-rooted/

  • Wesley

I can confirm that I am having the same bug as Ken, but on 4.1.999

  • angelus

I’m actually having an issue with gmail sync also made sure that all settings were set to sync. I wiped 2x and still same issue. It will sync initially but once the phone sleeps for a few minutes, if I don’t manually re-sync the email, I will not get any emails from gmail. Weird! Other than that I had no issues. Anyone else had a similar issue?

  • Danny

    @angelus
I had a similar issue back before I ever rooted my phone and was running stock cupcake (T-Mobile). I was using Freshface when the donut update hit and I ended up wiping my phone be able to use it again. That seemed to fix the syncing problem too.

One thing that may be important in my particular case is that my G1 had been on airplane mode for several months straight before I had this problem. I was serving in Iraq (I’m in the national guard) and I basically only used my phone as an alarm clock the whole time.

  • kubecz3k

I have accelometer problem too. in 4.1.999 work just great. after update it stop working.

  • http://fightingrabbits.com Frozenskys

Using 4.1.9999 having problem with bluetooth audio controls not working – streaming to the headphones works fine but the play/pause controls on the headphones no longer work after this update. Let me know if you need any logs.

  • fizzle boy

When you launch the camera from the search box, the whole system crashes and restarts.

  • rtierman

Finished updating to .9999 and I can’t get my paid apps. especially my backup pro. it shows up in the market installed but i can’t open or uninstall the options just are not there. anyone else have this problem. all my other apps. stock apps so far work great. i skipped .999 because it just did crazy stuff as soon as i installed it.

    myTouch 3G w/cyan rec 1.4

  • http://fightingrabbits.com Frozenskys

Never mind – the bluetooth problems seems to have gone after a reboot, reflash, and reboot sequence – infact the phone seems a lot more stable now. :-D

    Can’t wait for the 4.2 release……

  • jimmyb

I want to use the latest htc_ime. Ive downloaded the apk for donut from cyangens post on xda. Now after I installed it from astro I get fc’s when ever I try and use it . I’m stuck on what to do next, any help would be awesome.
    ***possible bug***
when my phone goes to sleep I have to press the end button to wake it up. Usually the screen will stay dark for a few seconds . I know for certain that it wasn’t always like this.

  • http://chemicarfare.us James

I have the same problem as #33, with waking the phone from sleep.

I also have problems with random reboots. I’ve had two random reboots in the past day.

  • angelus

continuing the issue from #26, I noticed now that I do get emails but only when waking the screen. If the phone is asleep there are times I get emails and other times I do not. Most of the time I have noticed emails get pushed when I wake up the phone. Really strange. I have wiped the phone several times and tried to resync gmail entirely. Has only happened to me on this build. Strange.

  • James Sparenberg

Found a force close that I can repeat. Go to the market. Choose Downloads, Press menu and choose notifications. For me at least it’s force closing every time.

Running 4.1.9999 on a T-Mobile G1 with a 4GB class 6 sim. 3 partitions (fat, ext3 and swap) Will try and attach a log capture in the XDA forum

  • http://www.divx.com LordOfTheDivX

I need more nines! Who needs a stable release when you can be on the bleeding edge :-D

  • owen66

    @Danny – thanks, i’ll look into that

  • Danny

I just tested out the market notifications force close in #36, and it does the same thing for me.

  • Levy

I also tested the market force close, but nothing happened.
I’m on a G1 with a 1GB class 4 mSD with FAT, ext4 and swap. And of course running 4.1.9999

  • squbel

Issue from post #30 – also exeriencing system reboot if launching Camera app from search.

Issue from post #36 – nothing happens, works fine for me.

Running od default compcache settings, G1 8gb class 6 sd card, Fat, Ext3, swap. No wipe performed since JF (than some Hero rom, cg 4.xx, 4.1.999, 4.1.9999).

  • nsnboy

  • mwyann

About the force close problems, are you using english on the phone ? If not, try it. Also try, in your locale language, to go to camera -> menu -> settings and see if it forces a close&restart (personally it does with french locale, and works as expected just fine in english).

  • starvin

bluetooth works for me wiht my htc dream (g1) australian optus model

  • brie987

Back with 4.1.9999, did a “wipe” and “fix permissions” Every thing is amazing and smooth BUT it still auto restarts when connecting to “Wireless Tether for Root Users” app with my laptop. I checked the website and it is a definite ROM issue that it crashes and restarts. The last it worked with cyanogen was with 4.1.11, non of the 4.1.9s’ worked. Using PDAnet for now till this is resolved. Anyone else experiencing this? Cannot wait for 4.2. Thank you.

  • Joe

How do I get teeter back? I had it in 4.04….???

  • Wes

@brie987 – I am running wireless thether for root users perfectly fine on 4.1.999. Its a bit glitchy, in that sometimes I need to stop the tether, and restart it before it actually transmits data to my comp. But once tethered correctly, its stable until I quit.

I haven’t yet tried it with .9999. But I will get there soon.

  • Adam

Wifi tether works just fine for me. Make sure you are using Donut-compatible version.

The best thing about 4.1.9999, however, is the battery life. My G1 can go on a single charge for 2 days! I can’t remember the last time it would last this long. Great work!

  • Tobias

“Touch Input” does not work on my Magic. But 4.1.9999 is still very nice, thanks !!
